SCHOOL!

I got the e-mail today that I have been accepted to the Masters of Professional Studies in Developmental Communications program of UPLB.

UP Los BaƱos, here I come!

Good thing they have an open university where I will be required to go to school only once a month. The rest of the studying shall be done on-line or electronically. This is to my advantage because my schedule is pretty irregular with all the area visits that I have to make.

Actually, there is no great need for me to study but I need the diversion since most of the things that I have been doing the past months have been purely JVP. This is my chance to have a taste of other things.

I am excited but I am also scared since everything will be self-study. I am not exactly sure if I have the discipline for that. But there is always wisdom and knowledge in trying.

BAGUIO!

My friends from advertising coerced me into going to Baguio. I wasn't exactly up to it but I am thankful for being cowed into tagging along. We rented a house up in Quezon Hills. Very typical Pinoy fru-fru with all the frilly cushions and heart-covered bedsheets. But the fireplace and the picturesque Baguio City view was more than enough to make up for it.

That was the first time I was able to use a fireplace. It was only then that I realized that it could be actually be a romantic moment.

Anyways, I have two new discoveries in Baguio.

One is the Asin Road where handicrafts and wood sculptures are deposited. Compared to the market, the wares are much cheaper there and more variable. The other discovery I had was the Herbed Squid Soup of Cafe by the Ruins. Man! It was so sumptious. I could have ordered another one if not for budget constraints. Sobrang sarap talaga.

The rest of my Saturday was devoted going around the ukay-ukay where I bought so much clothing (which I really need for my meetings with supervisors this August) and the market where I bought pasalubong for the volunteers who I will meet again this October. Talk about advanced shopping!

That night we stayed by the fireplace talking about shitty clients and shittier account executives who can't do their jobs (sorry, solace. Our AEs are so lousy with their work!) while drinking double pom gin (two bottles of Ginebra to one liter of pomelo juice!). Mark and I ended up sleeping 3 AM talking about my weird lovelife. Har!

Sunday was restful since we just bummed around the house. Which was all that I really wanted to do anyway.

I had fun even if I didn't get to drink batirol. :)
